The Oak Ridge Boys Are Back!

QVC® HOSTED A HALF-HOUR ALBUM SPECIAL WITH THE OAK RIDGE BOYS APRIL 29TH

Following is the pre-appearance press release.

Oaks preview ‘The Boys Are Back’ and offer direct-to-consumer opportunity

The Oak Ridge Boys will visit the QVC studios in West Chester, PA for the first time ever on Wednesday April 29th at 7pm (ET), previewing selections from their upcoming release ‘The Boys Are Back’ (QVC Item #F07413) from Spring Hill Music Group (EMI).   The all-new album is due May 19th and features songs penned by ACM Award Winner Jamey Johnson, Shooter Jennings and Jack White (The White Stripes).

The group will perform live on QVC their cover of The White Stripes’, ‘Seven  Nation Army’ and the poignant ‘Mama’s Table.’

“The first time I heard The Oak Ridge Boys” singing ‘Mama’s Table’ I knew I didn’t have anything else to prove.  These guys are legends and they just cut my song.  I love the conversation in the last verse.  And William Lee even threw in a free beard seminar.” – Artist/Writer Jamey Johnson

Mario Tarradell, music critic of The Dallas Morning News said it best when he wrote that THE OAK RIDGE BOYS new album “features a more stripped-down sound a la what Rick Rubin did with the late Johnny Cash.”

This will be the first opportunity for the public to hear new original material from the group in three years.  In addition,  The Oak Ridge Boys will delight their fans by also performing their smash crossover  #1 hit ‘Elvira.’  As a bonus offer to QVC customers, there will be a special five-song CD included with every album order.

‘The Boys Are Back’ revisits familial Oaks harmonies while injecting a new energy into their sound. ‘Seven Nation Army’ – the first single from the project – was a huge hit for Grammy winner Jack White.  The Oak Ridge Boys are the first ever country group to cover the song.  Acclaimed pop producer Dave Cobb (Waylon Jennings, Shooter Jennings, Jamey Johnson, Brooke White) helped catapult the group into uncharted territory, drawing upon fresh new musical influences while also clinging to steadfast gospel melodies from the past.

The Oaks’ brand has been a household name for years,” said Spring Hill Music Group VP Paul Sizelove.  “Spring Hill Music Group is excited to partner with QVC to reach fans old and new right where they are in their living rooms. The Oaks have enjoyed consistent TV successes over the years and we feel they are a natural for the QVC audience.”

The Oak Ridge Boys join an impressive list of successful QVC album launches, including artists and projects such as Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, Jim Brickman, Neil Sedaka, Alabama, Merle Haggard and popular TV compilations Monster 80’s, I Love Rock & Roll and History of Rock 1953-1973.

TelluRide Signs With Quarterback Records

“Pencil Marks” Single Top 5 Play MPE Download

(Nashville, Tennessee…) — March 16, 2009 — American Roots Records group TelluRide, whose debut album Four Square Miles is currently available digitally, has signed with Quarterback Records for the promotion of their first single, “Pencil Marks.”

“There are lot of great promotion teams, but we really felt the passion and excitement Quarterback had for the band and their music,” said Jeff Catton of American Roots Records

“Pencil Marks” was written by TelluRide lead singer Adam Craig, along with Dillon Dixon and Michael Howard. Play MPE listed the single as one of their Top 5 downloads last week.

“This is a very personal song, that I feel like everyone can relate to,” said Craig. “I’ll never forget leaving my parents’ house when I moved to Nashville and seeing the pencil marks on the wall of me growing up. I knew it was a song I had to write, and I’m excited about the response we’re getting at radio.”

TelluRide formed several years ago when Washington state-natives Craig –  who also plays lead and rhythm guitar- his cousin/keyboard player Ryan Jones and drummer Brian Smith hooked up in Nashville with bassist Jimi Hendrix (his real name.) The band’s name came not from the picturesque Colorado town but from a Tim McGraw song of the same name.

“‘Telluride’ is about a poor kid moving up to the mountains and working ski lodges,” said Craig. “We really identified with the song growing up in the mountains in Washington.”

Their tight harmonies, stellar musicianship and high-energy stage shows — 200+ last year — lead to opening gigs with the likes of LeAnn Rimes, Billy Ray Cyrus, Little Big Town, Lonestar and others. The band has even opened for such legendary rock groups as Foreigner and REO Speedwagon. The band has developed a large and loyal following through constant touring and an active internet presence.

Four Square Miles is currently available from online retailers as a digital download. Rex Schnelle, who produced 11 of the 12 songs on the album, aptly recreated the energy from TelluRide’s live shows and infused that energy into the project. The album not only showcases the band’s vocal harmonies, but also the skilled musicianship of each member.

March 17, 2009 – Rising country artist Katie Armiger teamed up with Great American Country (GAC) last month for one of the most successful promotions GAC has ever had, “Kapturing A Love Song with Katie Armiger.” Over 50,000 fans flocked to the GAC website to enter to win a chance to write a love song with Katie. The grand prize winner was chosen at the end of last week and immediately received an excited phone call from Katie congratulating him. 56 year old Stephen Shumacher from Charleston, West Virginia will be flown to Nashville March 23rd to write a love song with Katie and newcomers Love and Theft, who will also produce the song.

“I have always wanted the opportunity to be a part of writing a song, so this is truly a dream come true for me. I still can’t believe that I won and get to write with her!”

Over the last seven years Stephen Shumacher has been performing with a local cover band as an escape from his day job as a CFO for a local government agency. Katie will get together with Shumacher at the legendary Sound Kitchen Studios in Nashville next week to write and record a love song. Country music newcomers Love and Theft, whose debut single “Runaway” is currently climbing the country charts, are set to join Katie and Stephen Schumacher in writing the love song. The guys will produce the song as well. Once completed, the song will be released exclusively to iTunes.

Stephen Cochran Celebrates an Advertising Award and Readies His Upcoming Single, “Walmart Flowers”.

With New Single on the Horizon, Aria/Quarterback Recording Artist’s
Innovative Marketing Garners an “Addy” Award

Nashville – Between his recent tour of the Middle East, scores of benefit
appearances on behalf of his fellow veterans, and constant roadwork in
support of his acclaimed, self-titled debut album, Stephen Cochran has a lot
on his plate these days. And while he has built his loyal fan base one gig
at a time, some innovative and very cool marketing strategies have helped
with the steady growth of the singer/songwriter’s career.

One such strategy, created by Nashville’s GrassRoots Marketing, recently
took home a Silver Addy award from the American Advertising Federation. The
award, presented to GrassRoots Marketing at ceremonies held recently in
Nashville, recognized the popular online game the company created in
conjunction with Cochran’s single, “Thinkin’ I’m Drinkin’.” The game gives
fans the chance to upload their photo, which is inserted into a virtual
barroom standing next to Cochran. Skilled players watch their faces change
the more they “consume,” as the rowdy “Thinkin’ I’m Drinkin’” plays in the
background. With over 60,000 entries annually, the Addy Awards are one of
the world’s largest and toughest advertising competitions.

Even as he celebrates this latest award, Cochran has found the time to head
into the studio and begin work on his highly anticipated sophomore release.
In fact, the album’s debut single, “Wal-Mart Flowers,” is already completed
and is scheduled to ship to radio stations on April 13.

“‘Wal-Mart Flowers’ is one of those special songs that only comes along once
in a while,” Cochran says. “The first time I heard it, I knew I had to
record it and I knew I had to do it my way. That’s why I ended up
co-producing the record with my longtime producer, Jim Allison. I’ve never
been as excited about a song as I am about ‘Wal- Mart Flowers.’”

Stephen Cochran Makes A Big Pre-Release Splash at CMA Music Festival and XM Radio

Self-titled debut to release Aug 21 via Aria/Quarterback Records

Even before the official retail release date of his self-titled debut, Country singer/songwriter Stephen Cochran of Aria/Quarterback Records is making a big impression in every corner of the country music universe, notably at the 36th Annual CMA Music Festival and at XM Radio.

The CMA Music Festival took place June 7-10 in Nashville – weeks before the official August release of Cochran’s highly anticipated debut album – and the fan excitement generated by Cochran’s appearance at the event made him the week’s biggest-selling independent artist, according to Borders, the official music retailer of the Festival.

Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that Cochran was the overall #2 best-selling artist at CMA Fest, coming in just behind Jason Michael Carroll and joining a list of top-sellers that includes established country acts like Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Big & Rich, Bucky Covington, Little Big Town, Sugarland, Josh Turner and Taylor Swift. Cochran’s CD was actually delayed in being received at CMA Fest by an entire day, but still managed to come in at #2 in sales for the four-day event.

Borders had Festival retail locations in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall at the Nashville Convention Center, at the Riverfront Stages and at the nightly concerts held at LP Field.

Just prior to the CMA Fest, on May 26, XM Radio announced its Top 50 most requested songs, and Cochran received the news that “Friday Night Fireside,” his undeniable debut single, was one of the satellite network’s Top 50 most requested songs.

With so much pre-release support, Cochran is chomping at the bit to take his no-holds-barred live show on the road in support of his debut release. Here are some current dates from Cochran’s website at www.stephencochran.com.

Stephen Cochran Continues To Step Up For Veterans

Nashville – With his current single, “Everything We Knew,” quickly gaining traction at country radio, Aria/Quarterback recording artist Stephen Cochran is busier than ever these days between club and concert appearances and radio visits. But Cochran, a decorated Marine and veteran of campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, continues to stop at every possible place along the way to honor and assist his fellow veterans.

On January 25th, Cochran will appear at E.R. Bradley’s Saloon in West Palm Beach, Florida for an acoustic performance in honor of Sergeant 1st Class Chris Holloway. Proceeds will go to the Independence Fund, which provides tools and therapies to returning veterans in need. On February 9th, Cochran, along with his band, the New Country Outlaws, will head to Huntington, West Virginia to perform a full-blown concert to welcome home the troops at Huntington’s Marshall University Student Center. For the singer, who suffered severe injuries in a firefight in Afghanistan, performing for his fellow veterans has very special meaning.

“My best friend, Corporal Ron Payne, gave his life in service to this country, and I always think about Ron when I get up to play for the troops,” Cochran says. “I’m so honored to have served my country as a Marine, and I’m fortunate to be able to help my fellow veterans the best way I can – with my music.”

Cochran and his music are garnering more attention than ever these days. His recent acoustic version of “Everything We Knew” on “Fox & Friends,” was followed by a blistering, full-band performance of the pure country anthem, “Thinkin’ I’m Drinkin’” on “Fox News Channel New Year’s Eve.” On the heels of that national success, “Everything We Knew” earned Most Requested Song status at Nashville’s 103 WKDF and debuted at No. 43 on the R & R Indicator charts.

Look for Stephen Cochran on the road, joining Rockie Lynne and Mark Chestnutt in concert at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon on March 7th and opening for Jewel on March 30th for 103 WKDF’s Birthday Bash at Nashville’s Sommet Center. www.stephencochran.com
